Sanibel Tollbooth – The Sanibel causeway provides three places conducive to learning how to Kite. Immediately before the tollbooth is an area with much smooth and shallow water to work in. Parking, however, is just along the south side of the road. When driving toward Sanibel, go to the light just before the tollbooth and turn right. Then, find a place to turn around and head back toward the mainland. Off to the right you will first find an open area with windsurfers and then an area with kiters. Please give windsurfers and wading fishermen the right of way. You should also consider wearing booties to prevent cutting your feet on the shells and rocks.
